What is 4kids?
4Kids is a “virtual village” of ordinary people, like you and I, who make a huge difference in the lives of vulnerable children. Sihle, is 10 years old. Last year his mother passed away. When Sihle’s mother passed away Sihle’s 72 year old grandmother, Thandeka, had no choice but to take in her three grandchildren – Sihle and his younger brother and sister, Sifiso and Naledi – and care for them.
4Kids has raised 42,835 for Thandanani Since April this year! Thank You to all our Generous 4Kids Supporters and Champions!
Hope: Stories from the field
One of Thandanani’s newer households consists of 23 year-old Sipho* and his younger brother Sifiso* who is 15. They were recently orphaned and had absolutely no means of supporting themselves when Thandanani first made contact with them.
4kids Christmas Appeal
2014 is drawing to a close and the Festive Season is upon us. For some this is an exciting time of year when we get to slow down, unwind and perhaps enjoy a break away at the coast with our loved ones. Christmas is all about family time, opening presents and feasting on delicious food. Sadly, this isn’t the case for many but we’re passionate about making a difference to the lives of the orphans and vulnerable children we work with on a daily basis.
a tribute to Penny Haswell
As a founding member of Thandanani Children’s Foundation, Penny Haswell was actively involved in providing care and support to abandoned babies at Edendale hospital in the late 80’s. To honour Penny Haswell, who passed away on 27 October 2014, and her legacy of “putting children first”, the Haswell family have established the Penny Haswell Education Fund to continue her passion for promoting and fostering children’s education.

spread the word
Help bring to life the ancient African proverb “It takes a village to raise a child” by introducing your friends, family and colleagues to 4kids! The more people who know about 4Kids the larger our “virtual village”, and the larger our virtual village the more kids we can “raise” together! So help grow the 4Kids Virtual Village and spread the word today!
